Job Title: Assistant Professor of Food Science - Dairy Food Specialist

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Biology

Description: Two visiting Assistant Professors at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (1-year contract).  Primary teaching responsibility will be teaching a 3-hour online course each semester for the Master of Science Program in Biology in the candidates' areas of expertise.  Additional on campus teaching assignments (6 or 7 hours) will be determined by the department chair and may primarily be teaching laboratory sections.  Teaching experience is preferred, as is experience as student or teacher in online courses.

Job Title: Associate Professor of Food for Health and Wellness
Employer: University of Georgia
Description: This position is between two departments, Department of Food Science and Technology (55%) in the College of Agricultural and Enviromental Sciences, and Department of Enviromental Health Science (45%) in the College of Public Health. Specific responsibilities include: (1) teach one undergraduate or dual level and two graduate courses every year; (2) establish an extramurally funded research program; and (3) direct PhD and MS degree students and postdoctoral associates, and also advise some undergraduate students.
Requirements: A PhD in Food Science and Technology, Environmental Health Science/Toxicology, or equivalent program is required with demonstrated interest in food ingredients or nutrients important for human health. Experience with chemical and biochemical research of food ingredients and contaminants is preferred.

Requirements: The position will be located in the Midwest and relocation assistance is provided. A BS/MS/PHD in food science, animal science, meat science, or animal nutrition and/or 3 + years of experience in the pet food industry is desired. Basic knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations, HACCP, and GMP requirements is required. Job Title: Internship
Employer: Pro-Pet, LLC
Description: The internships will consist of a basic orientation and introduction to dry pet food manufacturing, followed by an assignment to one of our plant shift operations, or an assignment as a Quality Assurance Technician, or an assignment as a Project Coordinator. Each of these assignments will allow the intern to gain first-hand experience in pet food processing while learning to work and interact with some of the private label pet food manufacturing's finest employees. There will be specific goals set for each intern and many opportunities to learn and grow.

  • Complete a minimum of two years of a qualified college curriculum
  • Qualified curriculums:  Organizational Leadership, Industrial Management, Food Science, Feed Science, Food Science Technology, or related degree programs.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Able to work an internship of 10-12 weeks minimum at an assigned location (OH, KS, MN)
  • Hours will be determined by assignment and may include nights and weekends.
