Job Title: Visting Instructor

Description: The Dairy Science Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, has a need for three or more visiting instructors interested in teaching during the 2014/15 academic year in our Master of Professional Studies in Dairy Products Technology (MPS DPT) program. We gratefully request your help identifying individuals who may be seeking a sabbatical opportunity or a graduate student seeking instruction experience. Depending on the expertise and the individual's availability, the appointments can be made for one to three quarters.

Job Title: Assistant Professor - Dairy Fermentation

Job Title: Lecturer in Enology
Employer: Cornell University
Description: Teaching or co-teaching two courses in enology or fermentation science per semester, two of which will be requisite upper level winemaking courses for majors (Winemaking Theory and Practice I & II and associated labs). The other two course offerings will be electives; subject matter is negotiable, but should complement existing course offerings in Food Science. Courses on producing alcoholic beverages other than wine, such as beer, are of particular interest. This is a 3 year appointment beginning January 2015; renewable contingent on performance and funding.

Job Title: Lecturer in Food Science

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Biology
Employer: University of Nebraska - Kearney
Description: Two visiting Assistant Professors at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (1-year contract).  Primary teaching responsibility will be teaching a 3-hour online course each semester for the Master of Science Program in Biology in the candidates' areas of expertise.  Additional on campus teaching assignments (6 or 7 hours) will be determined by the department chair and may primarily be teaching laboratory sections.  Teaching experience is preferred, as is experience as student or teacher in online courses.

Job Title: Internship
Employer: Pro-Pet, LLC
Description: The internships will consist of a basic orientation and introduction to dry pet food manufacturing, followed by an assignment to one of our plant shift operations, or an assignment as a Quality Assurance Technician, or an assignment as a Project Coordinator. Each of these assignments will allow the intern to gain first-hand experience in pet food processing while learning to work and interact with some of the private label pet food manufacturing's finest employees. There will be specific goals set for each intern and many opportunities to learn and grow.

  • Complete a minimum of two years of a qualified college curriculum
  • Qualified curriculums:  Organizational Leadership, Industrial Management, Food Science, Feed Science, Food Science Technology, or related degree programs.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Able to work an internship of 10-12 weeks minimum at an assigned location (OH, KS, MN)
  • Hours will be determined by assignment and may include nights and weekends.
