Description: The Department of Food Science, Ontario Agricultural College, University of Guelph is seeking a strong researcher and educator with a primary research focus in cereal science and technology, and preferably also expertise in food quality and statistical quality control.
Requirements: The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree in or relevant to Food Science, and have substantial research experience, strong evidence of research capacity, demonstrated experience or clear potential in teaching, proven communication skills, and demonstrated ability to support industry stakeholders.

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Food Science

Description: The selected individual will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research and teaching program, acquire extramural funding for research and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals. Research and teaching emphasis will be in the area of food product innovation and development, including packaging. Research collaboration with other faculty members in the department and other relevant departments on and/or off campus is expected. Teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students in Food Science is expected.
Requirements: Applicant must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Food Science, or a closely related field by date of appointment. Relevant knowledge and experience of Food Science and Technology and food product innovation and development is required.

Research focus areas in functional foods may include bioactive food components significant to health and disease prevention; the effects of food matrix, food processing, and digestion on functions of bioactive components; the effects of structure, composition, and processing on the healthfulness (including satiety, sensory, and intake) of food and food ingredients; metabolomics; toxicology.

Job Title: Postdoctoral; Research Fellow in Dairy Microbiology

Description: This is an opportunity to join a new dairy microbiology group funded by the Dairy Farmers of Ontario. The ideal candidate will contribute to the writing of grant proposals through literature review and design of innovative approaches to improving the quality and health applications of dairy products. Potential research areas include dairy fermentations (starter cultures, yeast, molds), flavor and texture development in fermented dairy products; developing health promoting properties and fermentation processes which will improve dairy sustainability by adding value to co‐products.
