Job Title: Application Technologist

Description:The Application Technologist will be responsible for establishing relationships with key food and beverage manufactures and will develop new product prototypes utilizing dairy based ingredients produced at the Institute for dairy ingredient processing.  The Application Technologist will be responsible for preparation of technical monographs and articles for trade publications that highlight the use of dairy based ingredients.  The individual will be responsible for supervision, scheduling and training of student employees in the application lab and for inventory control of products, supplies and materials. 
Requirements: A Master of Science in Dairy, Food Science, Dairy Manufacturing, or Microbiology is required; must have experience in dairy product manufacture, analysis and quality control.  Also must have a minimum of five years of experience in product development and experience in preparation of technical monographs and articles for trade publications.  Demonstrate effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Job Title: Assistant Professor

Description: Teaching: The new faculty member will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses with an emphasis in introductory food courses, food service courses for Dietetics majors, Culture and Meal Patterns, Food Product Development, Sensory Evaluation of Food and other courses that support the Food and Nutrition BS degree program and the Food Science and Technology BS degree program. Job Title: Agricultural Operations Specialist 3 (Teaching Laboratory Support Specialist)
Employer: Penn State Department of Food Science
Description: The candidate will assist faculty members with instruction of students performing exercises in the laboratory and pilot processing areas as part of undergraduate courses, as well as contribute to the instruction of laboratory or pilot plant components of outreach short courses and workshops. The candidate will develop protocols for the delivery of laboratory and processing exercises and train and supervise teaching assistants. The candidate will maintain an inventory of required chemicals, supplies, and laboratory equipment, and ensure the facilities required for instruction are well maintained and in good order. The candidate will maintain safety procedures and records for the teaching laboratory and pilot processing plant, and coordinate with the facilities manager on safety protocols.
Requirements: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree plus four years of work related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in Food Science or closely related field is required. Laboratory or pilot plant experience also required.

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Biology

Job Title: Internship

Description: The internships will consist of a basic orientation and introduction to dry pet food manufacturing, followed by an assignment to one of our plant shift operations, or an assignment as a Quality Assurance Technician, or an assignment as a Project Coordinator. Each of these assignments will allow the intern to gain first-hand experience in pet food processing while learning to work and interact with some of the private label pet food manufacturing's finest employees. There will be specific goals set for each intern and many opportunities to learn and grow.
