Lab Animal Care Assistant

The Gnotobiotic Mouse Facility (located on East Campus behind the Vet Sciences building in the Life Sciences Annex) The gnotobiotic mouse facility is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to help care for our mouse colony. Responsibilities include working with mice in sterile environments; preparing the food, water, and bedding for the mice and maintaining the sterile conditions of the isolators using aseptic techniques. Performing periodic microbiological quality-control checks and assisting lab personnel with various mouse-related tasks. The position is for Fall 2018 and possibly longer.

Assistant Director

Will have shared responsibility with the current Program Manager for management and supervision of all supportive services and outreach functions of FARRP (Food Allergy Research and Resource Program). The Co-Directors of FAARP travel extensively, including international trips, so the incumbent will be responsible for independently managing FARRP operations when they are not in the office. The position includes responsibility for outreach and communications, the overall program budget as well as project budgets, and liaison functions with the FARRP Board of Directors and growth of program membership. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field plus five years of any combination of management, accounting, financial or business/information management experience; equivalent education/experience considered. Supervisory experience within a team approach. Demonstrated expertise in the areas of grants/contracts and budgeting in an academic setting.

Technical Project Manager

University of Nebraska-Lincoln

The Project Manager reports to the Executive Director of the Nebraska Food for Health Center (NFHC). This position will serve as primary project coordinator and will manage the research output/product development lifecycle to meet the mission and goals of NFHC and help develop the UNL Maize Genetics Program (MGP). Works multi-campus with various teams of subject matter experts across the NFHC pipeline and MGP infrastructure to ensure effective communication for discovery, translational animal models, and human clinical trials. Provide guidance to the NFHC Director and MGP Director for developing and implementing a strategy for external communications and outreach. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, natural resources, business, or related field plus five years of experience managing large portfolio of research projects.
