Animal Health Intern

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects.  These opportunities can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals. Interns will work under the direction of a supervisor and assist a team of scientists in their work toward the development of vaccines and other biologicals for use in animals. Opportunities are available for candidates enrolled in undergraduate degree programs.  Candidates must have finished their sophomore year of a four-year bachelor program in a life science discipline by June of 2020.   Candidates should be able to demonstrate their achievements in scientific coursework through academic transcripts.

Lab Animal Care Assistant

University of Nebraska Lincoln

The Gnotobiotic Mouse Facility (located on East Campus behind the Vet Sciences building in the Life Sciences Annex) The gnotobiotic mouse facility is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to help care for our mouse colony. Responsibilities include working with mice in sterile environments; preparing the food, water, and bedding for the mice and maintaining the sterile conditions of the isolators using aseptic techniques. Performing periodic microbiological quality-control checks and assisting lab personnel with various mouse-related tasks. The position is for Fall 2018 and possibly longer.

Assistant Professor in Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering

University of Kentucky, Lexington KY

This position, in the regular title series, will have an approximate start date of July 1, 2020, with a distribution of effort of approximately 70% research, 25% teaching, and 5% service. The successful candidate must know engineering fundamentals and unit operations that they can apply to process development and scale-up of fermentation, separation, isolation, and purification of biofuels, bioproducts, and traditional food and beverage applications. The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with researchers in the James B. Beam Institute for Kentucky Spirits.

Postdoctoral Fellowship

Fellows will have the opportunity for self-directed research within the research program of the principal investigator. Areas of interest may include one of: lipid biochemistry & metabolism, maternal & infant nutrition, nutritional modulation of inflammatory bowel disease & gastrointestinal health. The Postdoctoral Fellow must hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent of a doctoral degree (conferred within the past 5 years) and the candidate must not have exceeded five years of prior postdoctoral experience. Position will commence August, 2020. Senior Extension Associate Institute for Food Safety
