Assistant Professor

Michigan State University

The successful candidate is expected to attract externally funded competitive grants to support their sensory science program and will plan and execute the appropriate sensory tests for food industry, provide analysis and written reports, and schedule and supervise sensory laboratory operations. Priority will be on Michigan plant materials for sensory and product development activities.

Assistant Professor

Purdue University

Tenure-track Assistant Professor (9-month) position at Purdue University with research and teaching responsibilities in an area related to biomanufacturing engineering of food, pharmaceutical, and biological-based products. The successful candidate will join the faculty in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering on the main campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. The successful candidate is expected to develop a nationally recognized research program in the design of both upstream and downstream processing systems for the production of food, pharmaceutical, and/or biological products. The research may address biological product and process design; modeling, optimization, control, or simulation of batch and continuous microbial processes; or plant, mammalian and/or cell-based/free process systems using laboratory and computer-based methodologies.

Director of the School of Nutrition and Food Sciences

The Director has leadership and administrative responsibilities for encouraging and supporting ongoing academic excellence in cutting-edge research, education, and outreach in the School. The Director will represent the School, strengthen existing partnerships, and develop new liaisons and partnerships with stakeholders locally, statewide, nationally, and globally LSU System’s plan for its role, scope, and mission as a leading academic institution provides the framework for research, teaching, and outreach activities and the Director will take the lead in developing a strategic plan for the School that is consistent with current and future plans for excellence. The position requires a Ph.D. in food science, nutritional sciences, or related discipline with a record of distinction in research, teaching, and/or extension with qualifications necessary to hold a tenured academic rank of Professor in the School. Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience at an academic institution are essential.

Food Science Intern (R&D) – Full Time

As an intern, you would be required to play a supporting role in the development and improvement of a range of powder and liquid products, from concept through to commercialization. Utilizing best practices and procedures, you would be involved in the ideation and hands on formulation of products, scale up and commercialization support, and be required to interact across multiple departments including Marketing, Sales, Quality, Procurement, Operations etc.
