Lab Animal Care Assistant

University of Nebraska Lincoln

The Gnotobiotic Mouse Facility (located on East Campus behind the Vet Sciences building in the Life Sciences Annex) The gnotobiotic mouse facility is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to help care for our mouse colony. Responsibilities include working with mice in sterile environments; preparing the food, water, and bedding for the mice and maintaining the sterile conditions of the isolators using aseptic techniques. Performing periodic microbiological quality-control checks and assisting lab personnel with various mouse-related tasks. The position is for Fall 2018 and possibly longer.

Assistant or Associate Professor

University of Tennessee

The Department of Food Science at the University of Tennessee seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor to fill a unique role in coordinating food safety research and extension activities. The successful applicant will develop a high-impact, nationally recognized integrated research and extension program focusing on emerging issues in applied and/or fundamental food microbiology and food safety. Research Assistant Professor

Kansas State University

The Food Science Institute within Kansas State University’s College of Agriculture is seeking applicants for a full-time 12-month non-tenure track research assistant professor position to be located at our Olathe campus (Kansas City metropolitan area). As an essential Food Science Institute team member, the successful individual will develop a nationally-recognized, stakeholder-informed research program in produce safety that will include characterizing and assessing the risks posed by microbial hazards and identifying and evaluating the efficacy of pre- and post-harvest controls. This position requires a Ph.D. in food science, food microbiology, horticulture, or a closely related field.
