Lab Animal Care Assistant Gnotobiotic Mouse Facility

Working with mice in sterile environments; preparing the food, water, and bedding for the mice and maintaining the sterile conditions of the isolators using aseptic techniques. Performing periodic microbiological quality-control checks and assisting lab personnel with various mouse-related tasks. The position is for Fall 2017 and possibly longer. Find more details here.

Associate Professor in Food Safety (Leung Family Professorship) Ontario Agricultural College

The Department of Food Science at the University of Guelph invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in food risk analysis at the Associate Professor rank. The position is sponsored by the Leung Family Foundation and will be known as the Leung Family Professorship in Food Safety.  Research interests may include any area of food risk analysis with preferred foci on methodologies and strategies for risk assessment and mitigation of foodborne microbial (including viruses) hazards. The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Risk Analysis, Microbiology or related discipline.  He/she will have substantial research experience, demonstrated evidence of research capacity, a strong record of teaching, excellent communication skills, and recognized ability to support industry stakeholders. 

Consideration of applications will begin on February 1, 2018, and will continue only if the position is not filled. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2018. Food Science Research Assistants Penn State University

The College of Agricultural Sciences department of Food Science is seeking students and non-students for the Fall 2018 semester. The Food Application Specialist along with the Technical Sales Team will be responsible for providing natural color solutions to our customers (consumer brands) for various food and beverage products, such as confections, dairy products, beverages, snacks, bakery, cereal, etc. This person will provide color match/color recommendations for customer’s food and beverage product; develop and execute demonstration samples that highlight natural color possibilities across a variety of products and formats; develop and execute creative concepts for customer meetings and presentations.

Minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree. 1-3 years’ experience in food science, culinary science or related field. May require some travel. This position requires fluency in Spanish, both written and oral. Only candidates meeting this criteria will be considered.

Food Safety Program Manager and Manufacturing Administrator Louisburg Cider Mill

Louisburg Cider Mill in Louisburg, Kansas is looking for a Food Safety Manager. They produce apple cider, fruit butters, sodas, cider donuts, and a variety of other products. The Food Safety Manager will oversee the continued development and integration of LCM operations to become SQF Level 1 and subsequently SQF Level 2 certified, and general oversight of all regulatory requirements for a production facility. This person is also responsible for training staff on food safety-related concerns and management of purchasing of goods.
