Teaching and/or Extension Activities:
Advise 5 Ph.D. and 1 M.S. students and teach extrusion process engineering course on alternate years.

Research Area:
Coordination of industrial utilization of agricultural commodities research at the University of Nebraska. Emphasis of personal research program is on development of starch-based polymers for use in foam and other applications, use of vegetable oils and animal fats as diesel fuels, use of vegetable oils as lubricants, use of starch and protein in mulch films, production and use of levulinic acid, neural network and fuzzy logic modeling of the extrusion cooking process and contract research.
