Institute of Food Techologists Scholarships and Fellowships

This is a reminder that IFT Scholarship and Fellowship applications for the 2008-09 school year are due soon ... depending on your class status.  If you are a strong student, you are encouraged to apply.  NEBRASKA has traditionally had quite a few recipients.  And, who doesn't appreciate an extra $1000 or more?

To apply, you should be an IFT member.  An application form is available online at members.ift.org/IFT/Member/joinift/studentmembershipapp.htm
Note, you must include the e-mail address of a faculty member to verify that you are really a student to qualify for the (much) reduced rate.  Dues are $50 if you opt to receive a printed copy of one of the publications or $25 if you would prefer to read the publications Food Technology and the Journal of Food Science online.  (Compared to $165 for non-student members.)

Information about applying for the scholarships is available online at www.ift.org/cms/

Student Deadlines (based on your class rank for next year):
Graduate deadline: February 1
Junior/Senior deadline: February 1
Sophomore deadline: March 1
Freshman deadline:  February 15

All scholarship application materials should be submitted to Kathy Borg, 143 HC Filley Hall (Food Science Department Office).
